About Leah Boresow

Leah Boresow has been dancing all of her life, starting early on at a young age in Atlanta, Georgia. As a teenager, she trained at the Atlanta Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. As a member of the pre-professional division at the Atlanta Ballet, Boresow was immersed in professional company works, as well as opportunities for Leah to choreograph. Boresow choreographed a work in 2008 titled “Mobility,” that was showcased at the South Eastern Regional Ballet Association for emerging choreographers.

She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Dance from Indiana University (IU) from 2008-2012 , where she also studied and choreographed contemporary and modern dance. It was during this time at IU that Boresow began training in ballroom dancing, joining the IU Ballroom Dance Team for 3 years.  Boresow also spent a year living in Jerusalem, Israel from 2010-2011, studying dance at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, as part of the inaugural year of DanceJerusalem. Throughout her years as a student, Boresow choreographed many works and helped to co-found the IU Dance-Co Op. In addition to dance, Boresow also received minors in Non-Profit Management and Hebrew, as well as a certificate in Arts Administration.

From 2012-2013, Boresow was company manager for gloATL, an established contemporary dance company in Atlanta, GA under the direction of Lauri Stallings, where she also had the opportunity to dance amongst artists like Stallings and Zoe Scoefield. In addition to performing, Boresow has also competed in Professional/Amateur Latin ballroom competitions, winning 1st place at the Atlanta Dance Classic Open Rhythm Championship in October, 2013.
